My Story

I was born and raised in Oklahoma and have spent most of my career in the professions of helping. Prior to being a therapist, I was in the profession of career staffing, owning my own franchise staffing agency.

As a therapist, I have had the opportunity to work in residential and outpatient treatment in addition to private practice.  I enjoy working with both groups and individuals.

Life has offered many blessings and challenges offering me the gifts of life experience in addition to education.

In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with my wife and 2 adult daughters, and our dogs, Maggie, an Airedale and Matilda, a Lakeland terrier. In addition, I like to golf and travel, when I can find the time.

If you are familiar with the enneagram, I am an 8. A resourceful, straight-talking, and inspiring individual that enjoys goals, challenges and health and well-being,

My Approach

As a warm and down-to-earth therapist, my approach is to offer a safe and non-judgmental space. A space to unpack and heal from the painful parts of your life so you don’t have to carry the weight forever.

I will ask good questions, offer insight and feedback, to help you address current challenges or long-standing issues. You’ll never feel like you’re talking to a “blank wall”.

I will look at the whole person, rather than a disorder or label. I recognize one size does not fit all, which means I personalize my approach and use evidence-based practices to fit your unique needs. The pace and agenda remain yours.

A Space For Healing

In working together, my goal is to help clients…

  • Notice judgement - become aware of the critical and unproductive ways you understand and relate to yourself.
  • Embrace curiosity - shift from a position of assuming, to one of questioning, with the desire to better understand behavior patterns and the way you navigate your world.
  • Increase self-compassion - create an awareness for self-compassion to develop and an ability to increase your capacity for self-kindness and acceptance of yourself.
  • Grow – examine and expand in all areas of your life and achieve your goals.
